Emergency Information

Disaster Supplies: Your disaster supply kit should include a 3-7 day supply of water, non-perishable food, medications, flashlights, radio, batteries and other necessary items for each person.  See the Ormond Heritage Condominium Emergency Disaster Plan and the Volusia County  Disaster Preparedness Guide for additional guidance.
To calculate the amount of water and food, consider the following.  You need 1 - 2 gallons of potable water per day per person.  Store water for non potable uses in clean tubs of other suitable containers.  Plan for three meals per day per person.  Pets need food and water (one half to one gallon per day per pet).  Here are some tips to help you cope with a disaster:

  • Have at least one land line telephone that does not require electricity to operate.
  • Have cash because ATMs will not work without electricity.
  • Fill your gas tank, especially if you plan to evacuate.
  • Leave as early as possible when evacuating.
  • When sustained winds reach 40 mph, the Granada bridge will be closed to traffic.
  • The following radio stations serve the Ormond Beach area:  WNDB 1150 AM, WELE 1380 AM, WKRO 93.1 FM, WHOG 95.7 FM, WGNE 99.9 FM, and WVYB 103.3 FM.
